Together with Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson (1894-1982) shook English art out of the doldrums of the 1930s, helping to bring it back into the mainstream of international development with his uncompromisingly abstract art. This survey of his life and work includes personal observations and reminiscences from artists, friends and associates.
