Butterscotch plays Baloise Session
Synopsis
Antoinette Clinton’s success took her by surprise. As a teenager in Sacramento, she imitated sounds and animals and wrote a song about butterscotch sweets. The name stuck and she went from imitating sounds to beatboxing and from improvising to studying classical piano. However, she ended her studies when she became the beatboxing world champion in 2005. After specializing in her own interpretations of jazz standards, Butterscotch reached third place in the casting show America’s Got Talent in 2007. Since then, rap and jazz greats have jumped at the chance to work with her. She has shared the stage with Chick Corea and Bobby McFerrin, but also with Talib Kweli, Wyclef Jean und Will.I.Am. All of this happened before Butterscotch had her own album. The vocal percussionist will be jamming on various evenings with the most diverse performers as the BALOISE SESSION Resident Artist, building bridges between music genres.
